Job Posting: Bin Operator – Rough Rice Department

Job Summary: Major area rice mill is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Bin Operator to join our Rough Rice Department. The Bin Operator will be responsible for operating machinery to sort rice into individual storage bins based on type, variety, and grade. This role requires knowledge of conveyors, elevators, and bin operations, as well as adherence to safety and manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain conveyors, elevators, and bin gates to store rice by variety and grade.
• Perform minor repairs on equipment using hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
• Conduct daily visual inspections of bins and report inventory status to the Scaleman and/or Rough Rice Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area by sweeping and vacuuming as needed.
• Work in a dusty environment and handle bulky, heavy materials while exposed to seasonal hot and cold temperatures.
• Climb stairs up to 300 feet to update inventory status.
• Lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Follow company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Personnel Practices, and safety regulations.
• Understand and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
• Report all food safety issues to appropriate personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
